Bad Parenting!

This video was on Yahoo!News. Apparently a couple and their toddler went to a laundromat. Normal day, normal thing yea? WRONG! Easily seen that the male carries the child and places him or her in the washing machine, thinking its funny. Its so clear that even the lady thinks its amusing. Little did they know that the washing machine automatically locks and water starts pouring in. You start to see the frantic parents screaming for help till the employee at the laundromat pulls the plug of the machine and it even takes awhile before the door unlocks.

Thankfully, the kid is fine, only a few scratches and bruises. The parents or guardians, need a brain scan! How do you think it is amusing to put a kid in a washing machine? How? Its also front load, its so damn sharp in there! But how is it amusing? They say it still is unknown if the parents will receive trial. Trial and unknown, in this situation should not be in the same sentence. Put them in a washing machine and switch it on high, should be their punishment!

What is wrong with you?! Other incidents like this have happened but the other times, the parent put his kid in the washing machine as a punishment and the kid died. Bet that didn't go the way you planned it dimwit.

I don't even understand how this is possible. Michael rolls by his self or misses a step and falls and hits his head on the ground and my heart breaks although its completely normal but to actually put your kid in such danger thinking its amusing or funny, is ridiculous really. Now, I may not be the best parent with the best parenting skills. Definitely not, I'm still learning and I'm still making mistakes but I would never put Michael in physical harm like this.

Disappointing.

Giggle Monster.

A super cute video of Michael just giggling just because his tummy was being tickled when his daddy was rubbing his head on his belly! We were laughing like crazy when he was laughing. The other one, watch closely, he sticks his tongue out at me! Haha, I laughed like crazy cause I was not expecting that at all, only realised it when I watched it back.

Time for comfort.

Don't we all just get a little jealous of celebrities like Beyonce or Rihanna or whoever else you can think of now, cause they can walk in heels all day. Run in heels sometimes. Miss B dances in heels as high as I get after lots of wine.

I get so jealous sometimes. I love heels and sometimes wish my ankles were stronger to carry me in them for 3 whole days without me walking funny at the end. Being realistic though, I can't. My love for flip flops are intense. I could pair anything with flip flops and still act like I'm rocking that shit. Then I got pregnant and I stopped heels during pregnancy, I didn't wanna risk falling and all that jazz. Thought I would get back to that after Michael was born but instead cause my feet were so swollen, I couldn't fit into my shoes straight away like I thought I could. Eventually when I could get into them, I refused to when its just me and Michael cause I'm afraid if I'm carrying him and I tumble. I think too much I know but I'd rather not risk it really.

So imagine my happiness when I found out I was not alone! In a recent interview, Beyonce made this comment about heels. “I never thought there would be a day when I wouldn’t wear heels. Now that I have a child, I walk around holding her all day, I’m buying loafers and oxfords. I love them, because they’re comfortable,” she says. “And shorter heels too. I’d always thought, ‘The higher the heel, the sexier.’ But now I’m like, ‘These are really sexy.’”

Yay! There's hope for ladies like me. Its fine to rock heels but its perfect to rock flip flops to be comfortable with your baby. Keep the heels for appropriate times like special dinners or parties, or when you're extremely comfortable to run in them while carrying your baby.

Mini Speedster.

Intensely difficult to catch Michael crawling. He's been crawling for more than a month now but he's just gotten way too fast! I actually cannot keep up. Worse part is, whenever I'm in the kitchen doing stuff, he comes along. Before I know it, he's beside my legs like a little puppy and just staring at me. Of course, I hate Michael in the kitchen, its dirty and dangerous so I'm carrying him out and placing him as far away as possible. Then in record time, I find him at my legs again. Puppy I tell you.

I finally managed to video him crawling to his pacifier. It took awhile for him to get started cause he was so busy fiddling another toy. Well I videoed this awhile ago but I seriously could not find it on my camera. Haha, how embarrassing.

I've found a technique to get Michael out of the kitchen. Carry him out, he just runs back in so what do I do? I realised he just wanted to be beside someone so I run out of the kitchen and switch of the lights and hide and you can hear his little pattering and he pops his head out! I'm smarter little one. Smarter.

Diaper bag load.

The other day I met up with a friend at Dubai Mall and it was a fantabulously fun time! It was lovely catching up and she got to play with Michael a little before he got cranky. She smothered him with kisses she did.

Anyway walking around after, I noticed one lady with 4 kids. 2 girls and a set of twins. Wait, do I call them a set? Okay anyway, you get it. So the girls were older, definitely in school and the twins were babies. A boy and a girl. She had a maid that was helping her change their diapers, while she sauntered around the bathroom reapplying her make up. Don't get me started on this. Why can't you change your own babies diapers? Moving on. The twins were in separate strollers and each had a diaper bag each. By jolly! The diaper bags were so darn heavy that I was cringing when she or her maid tried lifting it! And when she plonked it down on the table, there was a serious plonk sound. Massive one. Sounded like glass. So it made me wonder what the hell did she have in there?!

So imagine this. 4 kids, 2 strollers, 2 massive diaper bags, 1 huge handbag for her and a huge ass bag looking thing that her maid was hauling about. Okay what is happening. Then she looked down at my diaper bag and had a confused look. Yes, we had the same look on our faces. I don't understand, why do I only see ladies carrying massive diaper bags? Whatever do you need in there?

My diaper bag only has:
2 to 3 diapers, depending on how long our day out would be.
1 extra outfit for Michael. Usually the same kinda outfit that he's already got on.
1 pacifier.
1 bib.
4 or 5 burp cloths in case.
3 formula containers.
1 carrier of wipes.
1 warmer bag carrying 2 milk bottles.

That's it. Occasionally, I bring my sling along. Recently, I've been bringing his teething ring out and teething gel in case. Random stuff like tissue, lotion and plastic for dirty diapers. Its usually also so light that I could carry Michael to sleep and carry the diaper bag and push the stroller at the same time, if need be, but this is not often. And no, I do not carry a separate handbag for my things. I have plenty of space to dump my necessities in Michael's diaper bag.

Makes you wonder, are you seriously carrying all the necessary? Or just excess? My bag always has so much empty space for extra toys for M, to keep him quiet and occupied. Maybe its my diaper bag, I'm pretty proud of that buy. It has plenty of compartments and it comes with a changing pad attached. JJ Cole usually has pretty great stuff no doubt. When he was much younger, I used to bring 2 sets of extra clothes and 2 pacifiers and like 4 or 5 diapers but I realised it was seriously redundant cause not one time in all his 7 months, has he needed to change his diaper more than 3 times and I'm talking being out all day. Plus, I'm the one that will be carrying all these things not anyone else so why torture myself?

Go check your diaper bag and remove the unnecessary please! I promise you, having a lighter diaper bag will make you a happier camper. Plus more room for impulse buys, which happen so often thanks to all the cute baby stuff!
