My Messy Monster.

Quite hard to get a video of Michael feasting on his semi solid food cause well he still can't sit by himself and he gets a little agitated sitting in his chair PLUS he stuffs his fingers in his mouth and I'm always trying to stop it. But I was determined! Low and behold, I got the video! :)

I started him on the Heinz baby food when he turned 4 months but he wasn't too happy. He wasn't swallowing quick enough and would just leave it in his mouth and would be hungry so he was thinking I was starving him then he would swallow and it was like woah, overwhelming for him I'm guessing. So weird cause he would be wailing like a demanding wail cause the food obviously doesn't go down as milk does and I'm sure he didn't have the swallowing technique down. So like I said, collection in his mouth. Not wise. So after a couple of attempts and him getting okay with it, not used to but just okay, I stopped it for a bit cause I wasn't comfortable with him eating in that manner yet and he was quite warm from teething so I just wanted to give him milk.

Okay, anyway! He's 5 months and about 2 weeks old and he's great! He swallows well and he doesn't get agitated that it isn't flowing down easy as milk. They say its easy to know when your baby is ready for semi solids but honestly, when you're a first time mum, it isn't. You kinda follow what the jar or the bottle says and you think to try. But you know, it only works when your baby can sit well, hold their head upright well. And eventually it gets obvious cause they start to get real curious about food! Like Michael watches us like a hawk, when we're eating and actually licks his lips and looks like he opens his mouth. That's when their ready. :)

So it was great, the video is cute.
